Bologna, 25 April 2024 – “I reiterate my being an Italian and European anti-fascist. We must not let ourselves be devoured by the black beast. There are still those who, despite commemorating our dead, still do not declare themselves convinced anti-fascist and close with the past”. mayor Matteo Lepore does not spare criticism of the government, and in his speech for the celebrations of April 25th also mentions the controversy over Antonio Scurati’s speech“shamefully censored by Rai, the state TV”.
The president of Anpi Bologna attended the celebrations Anna Cocchithe prefect Attilio Viscontithe regional councilor Raffaele Donini. The deputy mayor was present Emily Clancythe dems Sandra Zampa, Andrea De Mariaregional councilor Stefano Caliandro and the local contacts. President Anpi recalls the great commitment of women in the Resistance

The mayor also dedicates much of his speech to Giacomo Matteotti killed by fascists. “We will commemorate 100 years since his assassination along the bridge in via Matteotti and we will put a plaque in via Fondazza where the socialist martyr stayed during his studies at Unibo”.
