After Easter and Easter Monday, here is April 25th. Liberation Day in Rome is not only a solemn moment to affirm, year after year, the anti-fascist values on which the Constitution of our Republic is based and to remember the sacrifice of the partisans in the fight for the Resistance. But also, more materially, to spend a day outdoors or visiting museums and archaeological sites. However, pay attention to the weather, public transport and road closures and diversions due to demonstrations and processions that characterize today.
April 25th in Rome
Let’s start with the events. In Piazza Venezia, the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella will celebrate the 79th anniversary of the Italian Liberation from Fascism and Nazism from 9am, as usual at the Altare della Patria where he will place a laurel wreath. Another fixed appointment will be at Porta San Paolo, where the procession organized by the Anpi, the national association of Italian partisans, will arrive, starting at 10am from Largo Bompiani. Upon arrival there will be a stage, on which among others will also be Roberto Salis, father of Ilaria, the teacher from Monza imprisoned in Budapest and candidate for the European elections by the Green-Left Alliance. At 8.30 today 25 April at the Fosse Ardeatine tribute to the martyrs shot by the Nazis.

Possible tensions, again in the Porta San Paolo area, a few hours earlier. In fact, two demonstrations are planned: at 8 o’clock the opposing movements, the Palestinian students, the far left collectives and the university ones will meet for an “anti-fascist and anti-Zionist” demonstration. At 8.30, however, again in the Piramide area, the Jewish Community will lay a laurel wreath, with around 200 people expected. The police are on alert.
In eastern Rome from 10.30 am procession from Largo delle Terme Gordiane to Via Locorotondo, another procession for the celebration of April 25th, in which approximately 2 thousand people are expected to participate. From 3pm in Casal Bertone the neighborhood committee organized a procession.

Italia1 saga “Din Don”. At the Bioparco in Rome on Thursday 25 April the program includes “Art and mathematics at the Bioparco. The Golden Number in animals”: the exhibition, curated by Antonino Zichichi and Victoria Noel-Johnson, showcases 33 works of art (paintings, sculptures, works on paper, photographs and installations) by 11 contemporary Italian artists to celebrate the beauty of nature (specifically that of the animal kingdom) and the unexpected order of their often unruly world and to discover what art, mathematics and animals have to do with it. The ZTL in Rome
On the occasion of the celebration of the 79th anniversary of the Liberation, the Centro, Trastevere and Tridente ZTLs will be deactivated and the Green Belt will not be active. With the presence of the President of the Republic in Piazza Venezia from 9am today, parking will be prohibited in the entire area and in the following neighboring streets and squares: via del Plebiscito; Largo Enrico Berlinguer; Ara Coeli square; San Marco square; via di San Venanzio; via di San Marco; Piazza Madonna di Loreto.
Traffic diversions and bus lines
From 7.30 am and until the end of the ceremony it will be forbidden to circulate in Piazza Venezia, Piazza Madonna di Loreto, Via degli Astalli (between Via dei Plebiscito and Largo Enrico Berlinguer), Via del Teatro Marcello, Piazza San Marco, Piazza Ara Coeli. Due to the regular intervention of the Head of State, the bus and tram lines C3, H, 8, 30, 40, 44, 46, 51, 60, 62, 63, 64, 70 will always undergo deviations from the morning until the needs cease. 80, 81, 83, 85, 87, 118, 160, 170, 190, 492, 628, 715, 716, 781 and 916F.
For the Anpi procession from Largo Bompiani, which will pass through Viale Carlo Tommaso Odescalchi, Viale di Tor Marancio, up to Via Cristoforo Colombo, to arrive at Piazza Eugenio Biffi, the Ostiense ring road, Ponte Settimina Spizzichino and thus reach the destination, parking will be prohibited your vehicle on Largo Bompiani, Viale Carlo Tommaso Odescalchi, Piazza Eugenio Biffi, the right sector in the direction of the Ostiense ring road, widening of Viale Campo Boario. Fourteen public transport lines will be subject to limitations and diversions for the smooth running of the event. Here are the ones: 23, 30, 77, 83, 160, 280, 671, 714, 715, 716, 718, 719, 775, 792. In the east area, limitations on lines 5, 14, 19L, 313, 412, 450, 451, 542, 544, 556, 558 and C5. No parking on via Olevano Romano between via Prenestina and via Anagni. In Isola Farnese from 4.00pm to 7.00pm Piazza della Colonnetta will be closed and a deviation will be made for line 032 which will skip a stop compared to its regular itinerary.

Weather in Rome on April 25th
Watch out for the weather today, because it won’t give certainties to those who were thinking of taking trips out of town. According to the forecast for Thursday 25 April, the weather will be “markedly unstable with a risk of local showers and thunderstorms; temperatures will slowly begin to rise and the climate will be milder than on Wednesday, but still below the average for the period. Further snow showers on the Apennines with altitudes generally rising from 1200-1500m”.
