PALERMO – The rosanero led by Michele Mignani continue with their athletic and tactical preparation in view of the next home match against Reggiana. In the last three matches, since the arrival of the new coach, Palermo has achieved three consecutive draws and on Saturday 27 April (kick-off at 4.15 pm) the objective will be to achieve the first victory at the “Renzo Barbera” against the coach’s team Nesta.
Francesco Di Mariano will certainly not be in the match. In the last match within friendly walls against Parma in the previous round, the Palermo player left the pitch prematurely after a clash with Estevez in the 30th minute. Having left Barbera on a stretcher, the Rosanero’s number 10 suffered a large wound to his right knee which was stitched with 19 stitches. However, his return should take place within the playoffs.
Ranocchia returns to the group
There is, however, also good news for Mister Mignani. Midfielder Filippo Ranocchia seems to have returned to the group and will most likely be called up for the match against Reggiana. It remains to be evaluated whether he can be used from the first minute or during the match, considering the long absence that kept him away from the pitch.
Ranocchia had suffered a hamstring injury in his right thigh in the away match against Lecco (10 March 2024). After about a month and a half, therefore, he seems to have returned to the disposal of the Palermo coach. The former Empoli player, since his arrival in the squad in the January transfer window, had scored four goals and one assist in eight appearances.
Vasic and Aurelio should be evaluated
Finally, the presence of two other Rosanero players remains under evaluation. The first is Aljosa Vasic, recovering from bone edema in the third and fourth metatarsals of his right foot. His recovery seems to be on the home stretch, but it is not certain whether he will be present for Saturday’s match against Reggiana.
While the left-handed full-back Giuseppe Aurelio may not be there. Palermo’s number 31 is at risk ahead of the home match against the team led by Alessandro Nesta. The remaining players in Michele Mignani’s squad are therefore all available. On Saturday at the “Barbera” the Rosanero are aiming for victory.
