The green turning point at the port of Cagliari. New face for the stretch between the Customs Pier and the Sant’Agostino quay of the Cagliari port. All in the port master plan that in the extensive process of reconversion and redevelopment of the complex for tourist and recreational functions, the reduction of vehicular paths on the seafront and an increase in green spaces and pedestrian and cycle areas are envisaged. The eastern shore of the Canal Port will also change its appearance, introducing specific guidelines for the construction of the buildings that will be built in the Shipbuilding District, at the conclusion of the process for issuing state maritime concessions. Yes also to the functional technical adaptation to the current regulatory plan which, in anticipation of the gradual shift of commercial traffic to the Ro-Ro Terminal of the Canal Port, will allow the renovation of the warehouses of the Molo Sabaudo of Cagliari for a future use as offices of the Authority and of other State Administrations. In the management committee meeting, the port was defined as a constantly growing entity with the capacity to plan works worth around half a billion euros in the three-year period 2024-2026. This is the photograph returned, at the end of a year of particular and intense work, from the Final Budget and the 2023 Annual Report, approved yesterday afternoon, together with 15 other points on the agenda.

From a financial point of view, the archived general statement records an increase of approximately 5 million and 600 thousand euros in current income compared to 2022, reaching an absolute value of just over 69 million and 400 thousand euros (+ 9.09% compared to to the previous year). The same growth ratio also applies to expenditure, which rises by 6.4 percent compared to 2022, equal to just over 32 million and 352 thousand euros. As of 31 December 2023, the AdSP closes with a financial surplus of over 40 million euros and an administrative surplus of over 530 million euros, of which over 475 are tied up for the payment of works already in progress. In relation to the annual report, the 2023 photograph shows a port system in substantial health with a growth in passenger traffic of 7 percent (with a total of over 6 million 208 thousand units) and cruise traffic of 97 percent (with almost 435 thousand passengers) compared to 2022. Performance, those of the system ports, which, combined with the intense work of accelerating spending for the construction of port works (2023 is the year of awarding of infrastructure works which, over the three-year period, will make run around half a billion euros) and the digitalisation of all the organisation’s administrative procedures have allowed, also for 2023, the full achievement of all the objectives conferred to the President of the AdSP by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. In relation to port work, all requests relating to authorizations to carry out specialist operations and services on the dock were examined. In line with the positive traffic trend, all companies in possession of a multi-year license have achieved the objectives set by the specific Operational Programme. Finally, as regards the administration of state property, 57 requests were examined in yesterday afternoon’s session. “The approved final budget and annual report are the economic and statistical representation of a port system which, in 2023, reached record performance levels, with increasing traffic and the awarding of works worth around half a billion euros – explains Massimo Deiana, President of the AdSP of the Sea of ​​Sardinia – . A year that lays solid foundations for the start of strategic construction sites, partly already started at the beginning of 2024, which will gradually transform the entire island network, increasing its competitiveness”.
