TRENT. A meeting took place yesterday afternoon at Palazzo Roccabruna between the leaders of the Chambers of Commerce and the industry Monk and of theUpper Bavariafrom the Chamber of Economics of Tyrol and of Chambers of Commerce of Bolzano and Trento. The first point discussed – we read in a note – was the transit through the Brenner Pass.

From the 2025 onwards, for several years the Lueg bridge on theA13 motorway In the North Tyrol it will be open to single-lane traffic in both directions. There are currently some in place restrictions from the 3 to 30 April because of safety tests carried out as part of the general testing of the bridge. At the moment, therefore, the traffic heading towards Innsbruck is channeled into a single lane of the bridge.

An important issue linked to the Brenner corridor is the transfer of traffic to rail. In order for freight traffic to be diverted to rail, it is essential to build loading terminals, access routes to the Brenner Base Tunnel (BBT) and remove structural and regulatory obstacles to cross-border rail transport.

Another challenge that the Chambers of Economy and Commerce have in common along the Brenner axis, which was discussed during the meeting, is the shortage of labor and qualified personnel. Among the solutions is dual training, which is becoming topical again.
