The program of celebrations for the 79th anniversary of the Liberation, scheduled for Thursday 25 April in Pavia, has been defined. At 9.45 a wreath will be laid at the “Shrine dedicated to the Fallen of the Second World War” in the Major Cemetery: a moment of reflection and prayer will follow with Bishop Corrado Sanguineti. At 10.30 am meeting in Piazzale Ghinaglia, with the laying of the crown on the memorial stone dedicated to Ferruccio Ghinaglia: from there the procession will start heading to Piazza del Carmine, with the participation of the “S.Cecilia” Band of Belgioioso. At 11am, in the church of S. Maria del Carmine, the Holy Mass celebrated by the parish priest Don Daniele Baldi. At 11.45am the procession reconstitutes itself in Piazza Italia. At 12, in Piazza Italia, the following are scheduled: the flag raising; the laying of wreaths; greetings from the mayor of Pavia, Mario Fabrizio Fracassi; the official speech held by Anna Ferrando, professor of transnational history of culture in contemporary Italy at the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the University of Pavia.
