“Liar and Nazi”. These are the words on the sticker stuck above the poster of Giorgia Meloni in Caserta. Yet another insult towards the Prime Minister which, however, the Brothers of Italy do not want to let pass over in silence. The serious gesture it was in fact reported by the FdI MEP Chiara Maria Gemma via a note.
“Offenses and hostile attitudes towards Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni they are no longer acceptable. This morning a sign with heavy words to condemn was posted on a poster in Caserta with the image of the Prime Minister. I hope that the municipal administration takes action to eliminate any trace of this abuse“. The representative of the European Conservatives group then continued: “I am sure that this is an isolated gesture but it is a worrying signalso in view of the European and administrative elections in many municipalities”.
There was also clear condemnation from local exponents of Giorgia Meloni’s party. The municipal councilor of Caserta Pasquale Napoletano he said: “I’m waiting to hear about the actions of the municipal administration to erase the anonymous and cowardly traces of those who defaced legitimate posters with very serious accusations and shameful epithets addressed to the Prime Minister and the Prime Minister of a government desired by the majority of Italian voters. I am also waiting to hear the comments and opinions of all the political parties present in the City Council”. The Caserta councilor defined the incident as a “representative and dangerous act, because epilogue of unlikely accusations circulated in the media these days.”
