This morning, at the Hall of Coats of Arms of the Archbishop’s Palace of Salernothe first ones were presented events organized by the Archdiocese of Salerno-Campagna-Acerno in preparation for Jubilee of 2025. The program, rich and detailed, aims to accompany the faithful on a journey of faith and reflection on the theme of hope, chosen by Pope francesco for this extraordinary Holy Year.
A first meeting dedicated to hope
The first appointment is scheduled for May 14, 2024, with a gathering of the faithful representing all Parishes of the Archdiocese. The match, which will be held at the Palasport in Bellizziwill be a moment of prayer and reflection on the theme of hope, as the title of the event itself anticipates: “Pilgrims of hope”.
A Jubilee for conversion and brotherhood
“The Jubilee has always represented in the life of the Church an event of great spiritual, ecclesial and social importance, which the people of God has experienced as a special gift of grace”, underlined the Archbishop of Salerno-Campagna-Acerno, His Excellency Monsignor Andrea Bellandi, speaking at the press conference to present the program.
“Above all, the next Jubilee of 2025, whose motto, chosen by Pope Francis, will be Pilgrims of Hope, intends to regenerate a climate of hope and trust, after the dramatic story of the pandemic and the unfortunately persistent reality of war, which still shocks many populations in the world”.
The Archbishop then highlighted how the Holy Year also represents “a strong invitation to conversion, in both its spiritual and social dimensions, calling everyone to work for human brotherhood on a universal level”. In line with the indications of the Holy Father, who dedicated this year to the theme of prayer, the Archdiocese of Salerno-Campagna-Acerno intends to pay particular attention to this aspect, inviting the faithful to intensify moments of personal and community prayer.
A preparatory journey full of events
The first events presented this morning are just the beginning of a rich program of initiatives that the Archdiocese of Salerno-Campagna-Acerno has in store to prepare for the 2025 Jubilee. In the coming months, pilgrimages, conferences and training meetings will be organised. and moments of prayer, with the aim of involving the entire diocesan community in a path of spiritual and social renewal.
An invitation to all the faithful
Archbishop Bellandi concluded his speech by inviting all the faithful to actively participate in the journey of preparation for the Jubilee. “The Jubilee is an extraordinary opportunity to rediscover our faith and to live an experience of profound communion with God and with our brothers”, he has declared. “I therefore invite you to participate with enthusiasm and a spirit of openness in all the events that will be organized in the coming months”.
