Alongside the Comicon, the comics festival that is preparing to begin in Naples, the myth Milo Manara granted a long, convivial interview toAntiques dealer Naplestelling his story while sipping J.Rose together with the hosts, Alex Frezza And Francesco Cappuccio it’s at Dario Rossellifounder of J.Rose, a brand known for featuring Manara’s most famous illustrations on the labels of its gin bottles.

In his stories for a small audience of connoisseurs and drinkers, the ten-year relationship with the journalist Vincenzo Mollica – the two were together in Naples for the last time on the occasion of the exhibition of the publisher Il Grifo in Castel dell’Ovo, with Francesco Guccini among others – ; the one with the Master Federico Fellini and hence a long dissertation on the importance of dreams and the need for verisimilitude so that their representation can reach the general public and, again, many intimate stories (“I can’t believe that he has become older than him”, says Manara) from the afternoons spent together in the cafés of Piazza del Popolo commenting on the girls out for a walk, to the “gifts” that the Maestro gave to his own actors on the set, magically making them protagonists of “a dream within a dream”; and of course the beautiful women who inspired him were remembered for his immortal little women, from Santa Berger to Nancy Brilli. An aperitif that anticipated Manara’s numerous events at the Mostra d’Oltremare comics festival.
