Uiltrasporti’s protest: “Institutions don’t lift a finger. Unacceptable”.

“We can’t take it anymore. Between aggression and physical and verbal violence, working life on board trains has now become a Wild West”, commented Stefano Martino, regional railway manager for Uiltrasporti.

“Despite our continuous complaints – added Martino -, the escalation of violence by workers responsible for checking tickets on trains and beyond continues. The attackers are often themselves victims of a social problem that spreads without the institutions lifting a finger. Unacceptable”.

“In the total silence of the regional institutions and the company – the regional manager also declared -, we find ourselves defending the right to work in serenity and safety, and we do this with our bare hands, putting our face on it, in this case putting our neck, strong in our principles and our duties. We need to increase safety measures, such as prevention, training for staff, on-board checks and toughening of penalties.”
