Massimo Grillo starts again from Fratelli d’Italia and from the newfound relationship with the regional deputy of the territory, Stefano Pellegrino. The new council, presented yesterday afternoon to the press, was created with three councilors from Forza Italia (Salvatore Agate, Ivan Gerardi And Donatella Ingardia), two branded Fratelli d’Italia (Ignazio Bilardello and the new entry Giusi Piccione) and two technicians (Francesco Marchese And Giacomo Tumbarello). It remains to be understood what type of support the administration will find from the council groups, given the critical positions expressed in the chamber by the representatives of Civicamente, Marsala in Azione, Mpa and Democracy Cristiana.

In any case, Grillo declares himself satisfied with the renewed collaboration with the city parliamentarian and the president of the city council, as well as “with a renewed, younger group with a greater female presence”. The mayor declares himself optimistic about the possibility of regaining the council majority, believing that the internal dialectics of the groups could lead to a recomposition. “We – underlines Grillo – remain open and inclusive to those who intend to give their availability to collaborate, in the interest of the city”. Then, he adds that the new composition of the Council will allow him to be more present in the area: “In these three years I have been in my room from early morning to late at night, with the aim of bringing order. Now it’s time to bring home results, with the dynamism of this team, which will allow me to dedicate myself more to the issues that are close to my heart. I am happy and I believe that the competence of each of them will allow us to raise the bar, combining professionalism and practicality”.

The Honorable Stefano Pellegrino also underlined the need to “collaborate with the administration to find useful solutions for the territory”, while the President Enzo Sturiano highlighted the importance of proceeding with the integration of the Council team to achieve the set objectives. In the background, naturally, remain the internal frictions within the party, highlighted by the interventions in the city council by Elia Martinico and by a press note by Toni Scilla. The feeling within the Azzurri is that they are only waiting for the electoral count on June 9th to reach a showdown between the two currents.

As regards councilor delegations, deputy mayor Giacomo Tumbarello is confirmed, who will continue to deal with urban planning, territorial planning, beaches and municipal dog kennel; Salvatore Agate will continue to deal with budget, tourism, production activities and transport, also acquiring the delegation to Suap; Ivan Gerardi (who retains the position of municipal councilor) maintains the delegations to water, electricity and cemetery services; Ignazio Bilardello manages shows, major events, sports construction, legal affairs. As for the new entries, the delicate delegation to social services has been assigned to the former city councilor Giusi Piccione (a psychotherapist by profession), who will also deal with Mediterranean policies and relations with the Iacp; Donatella Ingardia (school director at the IV district of Trapani) will have equal opportunities, youth and cultural policies, demographic services and legality; Francesco Marchese (head teacher at “Mario Nuccio” in Marsala, but also engineer) will deal with education, universities, energy communities and circular economy). Mayor Massimo Grillo will retain for himself the powers for personnel, decentralization and programming ex Urban Agenda.
