He traces what he calls “a technical commentary” on the decree of the Council of State, published today, Wednesday 24 April. Shortly after 3.30pm today, thelawyer Vincenzo Latorraca, defender of the Islamic centers of Monfalcone, does so through a video press conference. After summarizing the now well-known events, the lawyer specified that we find ourselves in one precautionary phase.
«This ordinance does not establish any victory for the Municipality – states Latorraca – it will be the Tar to give clear indications on the future use of those places”. In light of the previous provisions, according to the lawyer it emerges that it is still reiterated the primary importance of the right to worship. And again Latorraca: «The discussion table had to be held physically in person or at least via videoconference, not with an exchange of communications via certified email. In my legal opinion, the table was not correctly set up.”
The defender of the Muslim communities specifies that the Council of State has not entered into the merits of the issue and that the Commissioner would have found it difficult to manage a table that had never been fully established. For their part, the leaders of the Islamic communities await May 23 with confidence. «We expect to be able to use the areas we own – he says Bou Konate of Darus Salaam – we don’t have a plan B for the future, we’re waiting for the TAR’s ruling.”
There is also a wait for Rejaul Haq Raju of Baitus Salat. «I hope that everything will be definitively resolved in May – these are the words of Haq – we are using the external part of the structure in via Primo Maggio since we were allowed by the TAR which blamed the Municipality. We are available to renovate and make any adjustments that are requested.”
