BUSTO ARSIZIO – The new synthetic pitch for Pro Patria will allow the Speroni stadium to become a paralympic sports centre for Busto and the surrounding municipalities, but also home to activities for the Department of Civil Protection. This is foreseen by the provisions of the Lombardy Region, which has financed the work that will be carried out with 300 thousand euros in place of one of the current training fields behind the stadium in via Cà Bianca.
The resolution
In today’s council meeting, 24 April, «on the proposal of thesports councilor Maurizio Artusa – we read in the note from Palazzo Gilardoni – have been approved changes to the agreement scheme between the Municipality of Busto Arsizio and Aurora Pro Patria 1919 Srl for the use and management of the sports field in via Cà Bianca”, where the synthetic turf will be created, also thanks to the contribution of the Lombardy Region. «We wanted to include that the redevelopment of the complementary sports facilities includes ensure the widest use of the system to encourage and promote sporting activity with particular reference to social inclusion sports projects for younger people”, in line with the legal provisions of the Lombardy Region.
Structure open to the outside
Among the objectives set by councilor Artusa there are also those, on the one hand, of «making the Speroni Stadium a paralympic sports center for the city of Busto Arsizio and for the neighboring municipalities”, and on the other to “make these training fields available for the activities of the Civil Protection Department». Among the requirements of the “simplified local agreement” with which the Lombardy Region provided the 300 thousand euros (to be added to the 300 thousand euros provided by the Municipality) there was precisely that of a use of the structure not limited to the football team but open to the outside. The presence of a access route for people with disabilities will make it particularly attractive for social inclusion initiatives.
