Next week Formula 1 will land in America for the Grand Prix in Miami, Florida. It will be the second Sprint weekend and there will be the first relevant news for McLaren and Mercedes. We will have to wait a little longer for the long-awaited package of Ferrari innovations, which will debut at Imola. F1 is a sport that always looks forward and so Pirelli has already communicated what the tire choices will be for the Imola, Canada and Monaco Grands Prix. No surprises, with an identical choice for these three appointments.
Pirelli selects the softest tire range for the return to Europe and the Canadian stage
If there is something that Imola, Monte Carlo and Canada have in common regarding Formula 1, it is not so much the technical characteristics of the circuits, but the asphalt which does not put excessive stress on the tyres. A very different situation from Bahrain and Suzuka, for example, but which is very close toAustralia where, not surprisingly, we saw the same choice made by Pirelli. The Italian-Chinese manufacturer therefore confirms the compounds C3-C4-C5 for the subsequent stages, a softer step than what we will see in a week in Miami.
There is no news regarding tire allocation compared to last year for Monaco and Canada, where historically Pirelli has always chosen the softest compounds available. A special issue instead for the Emilia Romagna circuit where Formula 1 will return to racing after a year’s break. Unfortunately, in fact, the 2023 edition was canceled due to the flood that hit those areas of Italy resulting in a flood that damaged those lands and clearly made it impossible to dispute an event of this magnitude. Remaining closely linked to the world of Formula 1, Pirelli chose the C3-C4-C5 compounds already last year, making a leap towards the softer tires used in 2022, in the hope of putting on more spectacle with different strategic choices between the various teams. This will therefore be the opportunity to verify whether this choice will be paid or not.
