Bad weather, peak of worsening in Abruzzo: snow up to 700m

The disturbance accompanied by arctic air is moving towards the south-east, also affecting the central-southern regions. After the snowfalls of the weekend, the snow back in Abruzzo, which today is experiencing the peak of the new winter worsening. In Abruzzo, the snow is falling to 700-800 meters, i.e. at medium-low levels for the period. While a heavy snowfall affected Campotosto, snowflakes also fell on Avezzano, at an altitude of 700 metres, as demonstrated by the images accompanying the article. In the afternoon, the altitude is rising, reaching around 1300 metres.

Temperatures dropped to very low values ​​for the period, especially in the interior of the region. This morning’s lows indicated -1°C in Roccaraso, Rocca di Mezzo, Passo San Leonardo, +3°C in L’Aquila, Avezzano, while on the coast values ​​of +8-9°C.
