Artists of national and international fame meet in the Palazzo Ducale Malvinni Malvezzi to celebrate contemporary art

Matera hosts “MaterMatèrArt”, an artistic exhibition that combines different art forms, from painting to sculpture, through design, within the prestigious setting of the Palazzo Ducale Malvinni Malvezzi

The exhibition “MaterMatèrArt – painting, sculpture and design” was inaugurated in Matera, in the Hall of Mirrors of the Palazzo Ducale Malvinni Malvezzi, an event that highlights the talent of renowned artists such as Artmare by Franco Giacintucci, Fulvio Bucelli, Carla D’ Alessandro, Yuriko Damiani, Vita Malvaso and Giulio Orioli. This artistic event fits perfectly into the cultural tradition of Matera, a city that continues to be an international point of reference in the arts panorama.

The vernissage saw the participation of approximately two hundred and fifty guests, welcomed in the rigor of elegance with a “black tie” dress code by the host, Federico Romano, who expressed great emotion for the realization of such an ambitious project. The Hall of Mirrors, the location of the event, was enriched with decorations in white lacquered wood with golden reliefs, creating an environment of refined beauty that served as a backdrop to the works on display.

“MaterMatèrArt” was born from an idea by Federico Romano, in collaboration with the artist Vita Malvaso, with the aim of creating a dialogue between different art forms, stimulating interaction and cultural enrichment between the artists and the public. The exhibition offers an overview of innovative techniques and original materials, exploring contemporary themes and social messages through the works on display.

During the evening, the Mayor of Matera, Domenico Bennardi, underlined the importance of the event for the city, recalling Matera’s role as European Capital of Culture in 2019 and as a continuous source of cultural inspiration at an international level.

The vernissage also had an exceptional testimonial, the actor Nando Irene, known for his commitment to Italian cinema and television, who acted as general director of the Matera Film Festival, confirming the link between visual art and cinematic.

“MaterMatèrArt” will be open to the public until 5 June 2024, continuously from 10:00 to 21:00, offering free access to all visitors wishing to explore the new frontiers of contemporary art.

The event was able to count on the support of numerous collaborators and the commitment of the “Volunteers Open Culture 2019” Association, confirming the strong link between the community and the cultural commitment of the city of Matera.
