A plan to attract major sporting events to Florence. It is ‘Sports commission’, the new division born within the Destination Florence Foundation, dedicated “with the aim of developing a diversified offer” and presented today in the city. The new division, it was explained, will focus mainly on two guidelines: attract major sporting events to Florence and the metropolitan city – such as the European Championships, Tour de France – and organize large-participation events, such as youth sports events, including Coni Toscana.
Today we are adding a further step to start an important change within the Florentine tourist offer – explained the president of the Destination Florence Foundation, Jacopo Vicini -. In fact, we wanted to strengthen the tools at our disposal, which we have already put in place in the past, through the creation of a specific division that brings together public administrations, private entities and the world of sport, to play a key role in the great game of tourism sportsman in the city
