Ayrton Senna remained for everyone more than a Formula 1 idol.

Thirty years after the tragic accident (1/5/1994) in which the Brazilian driver lost his life by violently crashing into the wall located on the outside of the Tamburello curve in Imola with his Williams FW16-Renault, opens today 24 April until Sunday 13 October 2024 the great exhibition AYRTON SENNA FOREVER in the spaces of the MAUTO, National Automobile Museum in Turin.

A truly unique exhibition that seeks to delve into two aspects of the champion’s life: sporting and private history of a man who won the hearts of millions of fans around the world. As Benedetto Camerana, President of MAUTO, declared, «thirty years have already passed, but the myth of Ayrton Senna it is more and more alive. An exceptional pilot, who became timeless especially after his tragic end, which transfigured him into the epic icon of himself, projecting him into the firmament of the great stars of our era.”

It took eight intense months of work to make AYRTON SENNA FOREVER exhibition, curated by Carlo Cavicchiwhich therefore intertwines the sporting history of one of the greatest automotive champions of all time (from his first experiences on karts to Formula 1 single-seaters) with a deeply human personal narrative, in an exhibition itinerary that becomes the choral portrait of the myth.

There will be many on display at the MAUTO in Turin 253 objects belonged to the pilot, from suits to helmets up to the cars he drove throughout his careerfrom the first Formula Fords to the latest Williams.

AYRTON SENNA FOREVER: meetings and debates

Complete the exposition a cycle of five appointments meeting and debate involving drivers, journalists, designers and friends, loved ones and longtime rivals in the reconstruction of the champion’s sporting and personal story.

On the occasion of the exhibition, the MAUTO Café – the café inside the museum – has created a special aperitif, created as a tribute to the great Brazilian driver and the flavors of his homeland, Brazil.

This is the title of the book written by the journalist and writer Giorgio Terruzzi, but also an event that will be held on April 30th and May 1st: the opening of the Suite that hosted the pilot the night before his tragic death.
