Exceptional exhibition at Palazzo degli Alessandri in Viterbo from 26 April to 12 May

There will be 48 artists who will exhibit their works from Friday to May 12, but visitors will also find themselves admiring works by Sebastian Matta, Picasso, Schifano, Angeli, Festa, Paternesi, Vincenti, Ludovisi, Turcato, Talotta, Mascagna, Demas. Each artist will exhibit a single work, demonstrating their decisive role in the beginnings and development of contemporary art.

The initiative is sponsored by the Presidency of the Province of Viterbo and curated by Gianmarco Merlanipresident of the Tusciart Italia Eventi Associationwho stated: “For some time, my family and I have been in the art sector, organizing exhibitions and events in the Chigi Gallery and in public spaces, mostly trying to promote and enhance talented artists from our territory. On this occasion, however, I wanted to pay homage to some of the artists who collaborated with it during the gallery’s twenty years of activity by exhibiting their works. I also accepted – continued Merlani – the request – of a collector from Viterbo who confided in me his desire to share with art enthusiasts the emotions aroused by the sight of some works he owns created by great painters of the 20th century. Hence the idea of ​​this exhibition for which I publicly thank the collector, lender of some works which together with the Chigi gallery collections will allow for 15 consecutive days to admire excellent works not easily visible in museums. On the occasion of theinaugurationdue to Friday at 6.30pmMerlani takes this opportunity to announce a series of initiatives that the Gallery will undertake during the year, always with the aim of enhancing, in the field of visual arts, the excellence of our territory, ready to initiate new synergies that allow it to achieve this goal”.

But among the works of art, guests will also be able to admire the clothes worn by the models of Antonella Polini’s Background Model Management. Merlani wanted to organize an exhibition in grand style and therefore at the end those present will be able to enjoy it over a cocktail with “of the local products which combined give the event artistic dissemination and sober moments of gastronomic tasting. On the other hand, combining food and art in contexts like this means valorising different kinds of heritage. The products that can be tasted at the end of the inauguration stand out in the panorama of Tuscia for their authenticity (all certified organic)”. During the inauguration the art historian prof. Barbara Aniellowill talk about and illustrate some of the works on display.
