Fire broke out at the Santa Chiara hospital and was put out in a short time: no one was injured

A fire started this morning in an outpatient clinic (endoscopy) on the second floor of the Santa Chiara hospital in Trento. No patients were in the areas affected by the fire when the flames broke out. No injuries were reported and no patients were evacuated.

The call to the single emergency center went out at 6am and the firefighters – who arrived in force with 17 permanent members and the volunteers from Pergine Valsugana with additional ladder trucks and platforms – put out the fire by 6.45am. Health company personnel were also activated on site. The operations were coordinated by the Civil Protection, Forestry and Wildlife Department with the Fire Fighting and Civil Protection Service, in agreement with the Presidency of the Province, the Department of Health and the General Management of Pat and Apss. Clean-up operations were immediately activated and are underway: there are no repercussions on healthcare activities. During the emergency, the volunteer firefighters of Povo and Gardolo covered any further rescue calls.
