Liberation Day: ceremony and initiatives in Piazza Cavalli, urban trekking on the 28th

The initiatives planned to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the Liberation were presented in the council room of the Municipality of Piacenza.

ON 25 APRIL IN PIACENZA

The institutional ceremony is scheduled for Piacenza Thursday 25 April from 10am to 12pm.
The procession will start from Piazzale Genova, followed by the ceremony in Piazza Cavalli, the official speaker will be the journalist Gad Lerner. There will also be a mass in remembrance of the fallen in the Basilica of San Francesco.

From 2.00 pm in Piazza Cavalli there are scheduled theatrical shows, popular songs, cultural activities, entertainment for children, music and songs.

The event “The steps of freedom” has been organized for Sunday 28 April, an urban trekking in the places of the Resistance.

FLOOR VECTORS OF MEMORY

on the occasion of the press conference, the “Floor Vectors of Memory” designed by Studio Libeskind of New York and produced by AIP Partners as part of the “Liberation Route Europe’s trails in Italy” project, purchased by the LRE Italia Association thanks to the financial support from the Federal Republic of Germany (through the “Italian-German Fund for the Future”) and donated to the Municipality of Piacenza.

Speaking alongside the councilor for Culture of Memory Serena Groppelli and the councilor for Youth Policies, Francesco Brianzi, were the president of Anpi Piacenza Giulia Piroli, the councilor of the Friends of the Piacenza Resistance Museum Association, Silvana Caroli, the president of National Association of Fighters and Veterans of Piacenza, Raffaele Campus, the local representative of the National Association of Civilian Victims of War, Ettore Fellegara, the president of the Piacenza section of the National Union of the Mutilated for Service, Maurizio Rivetti, the vice-president of Isrec Piacenza Fabrizio Achilli , Vincenzo Latronico representing the State Archives, the actress Letizia Bravi as well as, for the Emilbanca Piacenza Shareholders’ Committee, the president Fausto Brunetti and Amos Storani.
