Macaddino: “Concrete measures are needed. No more electoral declarations”

Uil Trapani expresses concern about what could be the repercussions on the Trapani area of the Def as it was developed.

The general secretary of the Uil of Trapani Tommaso Macaddino underlines how “The Economic and Financial Document, as it is structured, does not provide concrete tools regarding welfare, tools that this territory needs more than ever to deal with old problems and new ones, ranging from the lack of employment to the continuous increase in prices for basic necessities. As underlined by Uil leader Pierpaolo Bombardieri, the Def presents itself as a real electoral document. This union therefore asks for clarity.”

From a technical point of view, adds Macaddino: “the European rules are clear, it is necessary to return by 0.4 percent. Furthermore, in the stability pact signed by this Government with Europe, recovery trajectories are envisaged which will inevitably lead to cuts in the welfare state, healthcare and pensions. Uil, as underlined by Bombardieri, intends to remind the Government that this cannot happen, otherwise we will not be idle. Pensioners and pensioners want answers about the social state and the healthcare system which is not capable of giving them dignified assistance or guaranteeing local healthcare. Many elderly people, often not self-sufficient, remain alone: the Government has made two decrees, but has not provided the necessary resources. We need concrete answers – he concludes – and not empty electoral declarations”.
