“News in Cremona does not propose a lottery, but a constant study of possible access to forms of financing and co-financing by the Region to give the Local Police all the necessary tools to best carry out the prevention work to which it is called”. This is explained by Cristiano Beltrami, representative of the civic list headed by Alessandro Portesani, mayoral candidate for the centre-right regarding the management of the Cremona traffic police force.

“Our list – states Beltrami – wants to bring attention to the issues of safety and decorum of the city and the local police force is the main interested party. L’current staff is insufficient. Numerically inadequate to respond to a growing need for presence in the city area. All this despite the arrival of some resources: 5 or 6 agents, compared to a staff of 80 which are not enough for a widespread and constant service. Unfortunately, to date, the Galimberti-Virgilio administration has made only 70 people available to the city, including agents, messengers, auxiliaries and officials”.

“Then there are two other important themes. The first is that of greater attention to economic demands and recognition of allowance absolutely legitimate and training of the staff who must be: constant, not occasional and interfaced with the Lombardy Region which takes care of the specialist courses”, continues the representative of the civic list.

“Last, but not least the chapter of equipment. They must be adequate and updated for dissuasion and personal defense, following specific and repeated training. We mainly talk about working bodycams and eventually teaser on an experimental basis. The vehicles must also be in perfect conditions of use: considering the real state of the fleet of vehicles which is currently eighty percent efficient. And maybe resume and improve the use of motorcycles.”

“As an administration we will ask for the direct involvement of people and entities, for the creation of permanent conferences on safety issues throughout the entire territory: safety education, environmental protection, fight against drugs (dramatically neglected) currently present massively in our territory”, concludes Beltrami.
