PROMOTION

With the twenty-sixth and final day, the regular phase of the Promotion championship ended. Which after decreeing the promotions to Excellence of Mosciano (group B) and Lanciano/Miglianico (group C) well in advance, completed the picture by also sanctioning the last direct promotion: that of Montorio 88 (group A). Arrived right at the last dive and with the guilty complicity of Fucense Trasacco, protagonist of a real harakiri, having lost (at home, moreover) the decisive match against Varano Calcio, in turn involved in the fight to avoid the play outs. A surprise ending, given that many thought it very likely that the promotion play-off would be resorted to (on a neutral pitch), which instead will not take place, effectively subordinating every other issue to play-offs and play-outs. The only exception is group B in which, due to the wide gap between the vice leaders Penne (second) and Mutignano, third (separated by twenty points, but eight were enough to blow everything up…), the very clothes are be already qualified for the regional play-off phase, which will see them opposed to the runners-up (yet to be defined) of the other two groups. Six bid farewell to the Promotion: Amiternina, Virtus Barisciano, Sant’Omero, Morro d’Oro, Villa 2015 and Sporting Altino, to which four other teams must be added, to be determined through a detailed play-out phase.

THE FIGURES. As always happens during the last round of the championship, he scored quite frequently in the three groups: seventy goals in total, for an average of 3.33 goals per game. Twelve braces were scored, none of which by the season’s main goalscorers, who were all without a goal between last Saturday and Sunday. Good for Alessio Criscolo (in the photo): the striker of Francavilla (but also of Pianella 2012, in whose ranks he played until December), has in fact won the title of overall top scorer with twenty goals to his credit: one more of my colleague working at Mosciano Francesco Africani.
