Extension of the switching on of heating due to persistent low temperatures: the opening of the heating systems in Pavia will be extended until May 1, 2024.

Heating extension

Due to the persistent low temperaturesthe Municipality of Pavia has decided to extend the opening of the heating systems until May 1, 2024. This extraordinary measure was adopted by the Mayor Fabrizio Fracassi and communicated via an official note released this morning and which reads:

Considering that the expected temperatures are below seasonal values ​​and the adverse weather conditions allow for the need to provide for the switching on of combustion thermal systems for heating purposes up to and including 30 April 2024, the Mayor

ORDER

the extension of the period of operation of combustion thermal systems for heating use, postponing the end of the year to 1 May 2024 in implementation of regional legislation.

Mitigate low temperatures

The decision to extend the operating period of the heating systems was therefore taken into consideration harsh climate which still characterizes the city of Pavia (and not only) and of citizens’ thermal comfort needs. After all the snow has also made its appearance again in Oltrepò Pavese.

This is a measure that aims to guarantee well-being and mitigate the effects of low temperatures which continue beyond the traditional period of use of heating.

The ordinance of the Municipality of Pavia follows the line adopted by other cities in northern Italy, where the adverse weather conditions made it necessary to extend the switching on of the heating to guarantee the right level of living comfort.
