VENETO – 40 illegal workers and 16 irregular workers discovered

During the first months of the year, the soldiers of the Provincial Command of Padua intensified the economic-financial police checks aimed at verifying compliance with the regulations regarding employment protection. The investigations involved various economic operators in the city and in the province, allowing the identification of 40 illegal workers and 16 irregular workers.
Specifically, the Financiers of the Padua Group, following independent information-investigative activity, carried out access to various commercial activities, operating above all in the bar, entertainment and restaurant sectors, located in the province, with the outcome of which 19 illegal workers were identified, of which 2 without a residence permit, employed without prior notification of establishment of the employment relationship, and 14 irregular workers, hired under an “on-call” employment contract without the prior communication of the start of the work performance by the employer.
At the conclusion of targeted inspection activities carried out on public establishments and companies in the catering, textile and personal services sectors, based in the lower Padua area, the Compagnia di Piove di Sacco identified 11 illegal workers, while the Compagnia di Este 6. During these latest investigations it emerged that, in all the cases found, the salaries of staff not regularly employed were paid exclusively in cash.
In the upper Padua area, the Cittadella Company has intensified its checks on economic subjects active in the food and drink administration sector, identifying 4 illegal workers and 2 irregular family collaborators, without their own insurance position.
The checks in question made it possible to report the issues to the competent Territorial Labor Inspectorate
violations summarized above, the administrative sanctions of which are included, overall, between a minimum of approximately 215 thousand euros and a maximum of over one million euros, as well as to have 10 measures of suspension of the activity adopted, due to the use of personnel not registered to an extent equal to or greater than 10% of the total workers present in the inspected places.
