During a routine patrol, the Carabinieri of the operational section of the local company intercepted Andrea Nastri Giogli, a 22-year-old young man already known to the police, while he was walking along Via Lucilio. At the end of a personal search, the young man was found in possession of 10 grams of cocaine, which is why the military decided to extend the check to his home too.
In the 22-year-old’s apartment, the police discovered another 60 grams of the same narcotic, as well as a 9 caliber pistol with abraded serial number and ready-to-use ammunition. In particular, there were 10 bullets in the gun’s magazine, a sign that the weapon was ready for use.
Andrea Nastri Giogli was arrested on charges of possession of narcotic substances for the purpose of dealing and illicit possession of a clandestine weapon. The seized gun will now be subjected to ballistic and fingerprint tests in order to establish whether it was used in previous episodes of violence or other crimes.
