She tripped on the rough pavement of Piazzale Pontecorvo in Padua, ending up disastrously on the ground. And now he will ask the Municipality for damages. The misadventure happened to the lawyer Marina Infantolino who suffered a bilateral fracture of the radial head with a prognosis of 30 days. In practice she is in a cast on both arms, from her hands almost to her shoulders, unable to make any movement with her hands.
«I was going to the office» she says «more or less in front of the “Donna Paola café” I tripped over a depression in the pavement. As I fell to the ground I hit my arms and elbows. It happened on Wednesday 17 April between 9 and 10 in the morning.”
Infantolino was taken to the emergency room and after the x-ray tests in a cast.
The fall occurred on the opposite side of the road where the pavement was resurfaced. «Maybe it was time to fix this side of the road too» says the lawyer, intending to ask for damages from the municipal administration, «I am not able to do anything alone these days, not even to eat independently and therefore I need of continuous assistance”.
On April 22, the lawyer published the news of his misfortune on social media, accompanied by photographs, receiving the support of many colleagues.
The sidewalk where the fall occurred is present depressions also caused by plant roots which raise the road surface creating actual steps that are very dangerous for pedestrians. As often happens with large plants close to the walkway. —
