CROTONE – Sunday the concert “A trip to Naples”

The concert will be held on Sunday 28 April in Crotone, at 8.30 pm, in the Church of Santa Chiara A trip to Naples of the duo Duo Sarti – composed by the violinist Roberto Noferini and by the harpsichordist, pianist and fortepianist Chiara Cattani.

The event is the preview of the sixth edition of Leonardo Vinci Ancient Music Festivalthe music festival promoted by E20 Music Management And Aurora Festival Association with the artistic direction of Luca Campana and the patronage of the Culture Department of the Municipality of Crotone.

Resuming the experience successfully experimented in past editions – also with the foundation of the Study Center named after Leonardo Vinci, the musical proposal of this new edition, which will present the complete program in the coming weeks, continues to keep the spotlight on the musical civilization of seventeenth and eighteenth century Europe, thanks to the participation of young and established talented musicians.

The concert will take listeners on a passionate journey to Naples at the beginning of the 18th century, where musicians and opera artists came from all over Italy and Europe to study. In fact, the most famous masters of the time lived right in the Neapolitan city, here people innovated, experimented and made history.

The great protagonist of the musical program will be Leonardo Vinci, a musician born in Strongoli in 1690, recognized among the greatest exponents of the Neapolitan opera school, applauded in the major Italian theaters and esteemed by musicians such as Vivaldi and Häendel. Vinci will be honored with two very important sonatas, capable of combining operatic singing with a specific knowledge of the styles and peculiarities of the instruments. Following Domenico Scarlatti, one of the most famous names of the period, architect of a new destiny for the keyboard instrument. Thanks to him, the harpsichord becomes a solo instrument, and the harpsichordist a great virtuoso.

The sonata on the program, the K81, comes from a collection of 12, which, as was the practice of the time, have the double purpose of the violin or the solo flute. He is not Neapolitan by birth but by adoption Giovanni Paisielloof which one is performed Departure and Capriccio taken from a collection in two books of Sonatas, Symphonies and Rondos for harpsichord or piano and violin accompaniment. Also Faithful Fenaroli he is a musician who travels to Naples, and is of Abruzzo origin.
