Three years and four months sentence for DR, these are his initials, born in 1978, resident in Latina, a worker with no criminal record arrested on charges of possession for the purpose of dealing narcotic substances. The operation was conducted in November 2023. During the investigative activity – conducted by the Flying Squad officers – he was found in possession of 119 grams of cocaine and then also of hashish and marijuana. The police stopped him in the car and during a search the narcotic substance was discovered.
It was the detectives – coordinated by the deputy commissioner Mattia Falso – who noticed the ambiguous attitude of the 45-year-old, in all likelihood the Flying Squad policemen had gathered suspicions about the man which immediately after the arrest turned out to be well-founded. At the end of the personal search and that of the car, the substance emerged. It was the judge for preliminary investigations of the Court of Latina Pierpaolo Bortone who validated the arrest and granted the suspect house arrest. During the hearing – in front of the magistrate – the man remained silent and made use of the right not to respond.
Yesterday in Court – by the preliminary hearing judge Giuseppe Cario – the hearing of the trial took place and the accused, defended by the lawyer Daniele Giordano, chose the abbreviated trial, a rite provided for by the code which provides for the reduction of a third of the sentence. During her indictment, prosecutor Daria Monsurrò had asked for a sentence of three years and six months, while the defense tried to undermine the prosecution system, asking for requalification in a mild case.
