National ensemble and solo music competition: first prize for the young musicians of the Brigida of Termoli

TERMOLI – Double success for Brigida di Termoli at the XVI edition of the National Ensemble and Solo Music Competition “L. Montini” of Campobasso.

The young musicians of the lower secondary school won the first prize in the category with the
score of 98/100; Darius Atoderesi was also awarded as “best talent” for his solo performance with the trumpet. Darius is a student of the Institute enrolled in the transverse flute course, but who also plays the trumpet, clarinet and saxophone with passion.

The Brigida Ensemble made up of 20 elements of the Orchestra (trumpet, flutes, violins, and pianos) climbed to the highest podium performing the “Presto” from the Concerto in G Major for viola and strings, by Georg Philipp Telemann, with an arrangement for Trumpet and Orchestra of Flutes, Violins, Guitars, Piano by prof. Armando Varriano.

Numerous schools from Molise and other regions, from Trentino Alto Adige to Calabria, participated in the competition, which aims to spread musical culture and motivate children to practice instrumental and vocal instruments, both solo and ensemble. The musicians were evaluated by a commission made up of teachers from various conservatories, as well as by a jury made up of students from the musical courses of the Montini Institute, who evaluated the participants and in turn awarded prizes and recognitions.

The emotion of the Brigida students who received the prize during a ceremony held at the Savoia Theater in Campobasso was great, during which they performed the piece that won them the first prize. A great satisfaction for the kids who dedicate themselves almost daily to the practice of their chosen musical instrument with commitment and passion, but a great pride
also for Brigida from Termoli who has been investing in and training young musical talents for years.
