L’AQUILA – The Superior Council of the Judiciary has indicated, after careful screening, the magistrates Alberto Sgambatigeneral advocate at the L’Aquila General Prosecutor’s Office, e Antonio Laronga, deputy prosecutor in Foggia, as the only two candidates vying for the position of district anti-mafia public prosecutor in L’Aquila.

A complex investigation now begins by the CSM with the proposal of the candidate deemed best by the competent commission: then the vote of the Plenum with the green light also from the Ministry of Justice. It will take a few months before we know who will be entrusted with the task. This is a highly sought-after appointment as the L’Aquila prosecutor’s office has regional jurisdiction over mafia events.
