TREVISO – The mosquito disinfestation plan wanted by the Treviso municipal administration starts on Monday 22 April with the first larvicidal interventions in the drains. The treatment will concern all the main species, in addition to the more typical aedes albopictus (tiger mosquito), whose spread is favored by the changed weather and climate conditions that have occurred in Italy. The program includes a series of interventions based on the zoning of the territory, as well as the involvement of private individuals, with the aim of preventing their proliferation through the free distribution of anti-larval tablets, carried out on a collaborative and informative basis.
The distribution of the packages to citizens residing in the municipal area (provided with an identity document certifying their residence or by the condominium administrator or his delegate) will start on Saturday 27 April on the occasion of the central city market (Porta San Tomaso) in the special stands set up by the Municipality of Treviso to continue every Tuesday and Saturday until June 4th. In case of rain, the distribution of the tablets will be carried out at the Local Police Headquarters in via Castello d’Amore n. 2/e at the same times as the market.
The program of larvicidal interventions will instead take place according to the following scheme: ZONE A (Historic Centre): 22 April, 20 May, 24 June, 29 July, 2 September, 7 October; ZONE B (Santa Maria del Rovere, Selvana, Fiera): 23 April, 21 May, 25 June, 30 July, 3 September, 8 October; ZONE C (Votive Church, San Lazzaro, San Zeno, Sant’Angelo, Sant’Antonino): 24 April, 22 May, 26 June, 31 July, 4 September, 9 October; ZONE D (Canizzano, San Giuseppe and Santa Maria del Sile): 25 April (or next available date), 23 May, 27 June, 1 August, 5 September, 10 October. ZONE E (Santa Bona, San Liberale, San Paolo, Monigo and San Pelaio): 26 April, 24 May, 28 June, 2 August, 6 September, 11 October.
The larvicidal disinfestation interventions on the ditches will be held on the following dates: 20 and 21 May, 24 and 25 June, 29 and 30 July, 2 and 3 September. In order to guarantee maximum effectiveness of the treatment, citizens are asked to keep the areas free from brushwood and other materials that can favor the presence of stagnant water. ot
