Last April 18th was inaugurated in Molfetta(BA) the photographic/video exhibition on rites of Holy Week in Puglia in 2024, as part of the contest “Living Light”, organized by Viva Network, an online information circuit active in the northern Bari area, BAT and Cerignola. The inauguration ceremony took place in the prestigious Hall of the Templars where the selected and winning shots are displayed, as well as some photos of the company’s collaborators, journalists and photographers Editorial board Of “Viva” during the Lenten rites of 2024. For the presentation, those who spoke among others were: Giacomo Rossiello, municipal councilor for culture; Salvatore Farinato, editor of the Viva Network; Ida Vinella, editor-in-chief of the Viva Network; Mario Sculco and Antonio d’Agostino, professional photographers representing the jury that selected, on merit, the winning photographs and videos of the contest “Living Light”, now in its second edition. During the evening, certificates of participation were given to those whose shots were chosen for the exhibition, while the first three classified in the two sections “Photography” and “Video” received a symbolic trophy and a tribute of a present offered by “Il Tesoro” and “Il Tesoro Glam” of Molfetta.

In the “Photography” section, among the awarded shots, in third place was that of Federico Ventura titled “Black gold” made on 30 March 2024 in Canosa di Puglia during the procession of Sorry. Two other shots are on display, one by Anna Lisi entitled “Veiled Women” and the other “Legàmi nel Buio” taken by Federico Ventura who won in the “Video” section with the procession of the Desolata di Canosa di Puglia. Recognition also goes to the video by Simone Angarano entitled “Without breath and voice” made on the morning of March 30, 2024 in Canosa. This year too, the Solemn Procession of the Desolate it was one of the religious rites of Holy Week in Puglia, most photographed and filmed by video cameras with services that are participating in various contests such as the one “Living Light” . The photo contest “Living Light” was won by Domenico Belfiore with the shot “Il crocifero” taken in Noicattaro on 30 March 2024.

The exhibition “Living Light”, free entry, at the Sala dei Templari, in Piazza Municipio n.32 in Molfetta, it will remain open until April 28th on the following days: from Tuesday to Friday, from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm; Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 18:00 to 21:00. Since 2020, in Puglia Regional Law n.8 considers the rites and processions of Holy Week as its intangible heritage. In implementation of the convention of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), for the protection of intangible cultural heritage, the Puglia Region protects and enhances the processions and rites of Holy Week, contributing to their conservation and promotion, in order to guarantee its widest diffusion.
