New biomethane plant in Veneto, in Ariano nel Polesine

The Venetoafter Lombardy, is the second Italian region in terms of number of plants biogas and biomethane. And today, ad Ariano in the Polesine (Rovigo) a new gigantic plant capable of producing annually was inaugurated 3600 tons of liquid biomethane enough to supply 100 trucks for 100 thousand kilometers and natural fertilizers to fertilize 8 thousand hectares of fields.

Biomethane is obtained after a digestion process in the absence of oxygen of cattle and chicken excrement and agricultural residues, solving the problem of poor management of wastewater which instead becomes energy from renewable sources and constituting a model of circular economy and additional income for Italian agricultural and livestock enterprises, already considered among the most sustainable in the world.

Present at the inauguration were the President of Legambiente Stefano Ciafani, who indicated it among the most virtuous models for the National Energy Transition Day, Ettore Prandini, President of Coldiretti, and the Belluno senator Luca De Carlo, President of the Agriculture Commission.
