De Luca: I am not giving up my third mandate

“I believe that the Democratic Party must address ethically relevant issues with much greater attention and respect for the sensitivity of the Catholic world. These are issues to be addressed without ideology and knowing that the issue of life and death deeply touches the conscience of each of us we”. The governor of Campania Vincenzo De Luca explains this in an interview with Repubblica where he addresses various topics including that of the third mandate for governors. “Since the national law has been transposed, and Campania has not yet done so, it is possible to carry out a subsequent mandate. This is what my colleague Zaia is doing, without anyone having had anything to object to – he continues -. I find it intolerable that small Roman bureaucracies must prevent citizens from democratically choosing their rulers. Even a single mandate for someone who proves incapable of governing can be excessive.” The League pushes to the breaking point on the Autonomy reform, to approve it on the 29th. “We are waging a battle of opinion and promoting strong mobilization initiatives in Rome too. Now the parliamentary tools remain to be used with the utmost determination”, he concludes.
