From the Vespa to Leonardo, passing through fairs and markets: what to do this weekend
Descriptive text here

Despite the unstable weather, many events are scheduled for this weekend of Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st April. These appointments may be modified or canceled due to bad weather.

In the meantime, save in your calendar the appointment with the Corsivo Festival on Saturday 18 May at the Serravalle park in Empoli.

Now let’s move on to all the appointments:

Win. Sunday is Leonardo’s Day! Between Vinci and Cerreto a walk along Leonardo’s streets.

Empoli. On Sunday 21 April from 10am onwards at the Serravalle di Empoli Park we celebrate nature and the community again: ‘Agricoltura in Festa’ returns for its third edition.

Many initiatives are planned starting from the farmers’ market with fresh and genuine products directly from the Tuscan land, from artisanal cheeses to honey. Then a bookshop space dedicated to the discovery of books that celebrate nature, sustainable agriculture and rural life, a kite workshop that will keep adults and children with their noses in the air and will engage the whole family in a fun experience, and from 4pm the magic of Tom Mago who will transport you to a world of wonders and surprises. Street food could not be missing either, with a wide selection of delicacies, from traditional Tuscan specialties to international dishes. Finally, Agricoltura in Festa will also be an opportunity to show the results of the innovative projects to promote environmental awareness and social inclusion carried out in local schools

Castelfiorentino. In fact, “Castello Fashion Day” is scheduled for Sunday 21 April, during which the traders of the natural shopping center will give life to a series of events to present the new collections of the summer season, with music, “living” shop windows, “live” hairstyles ”, aperitifs and photo shoots.

The event, which will take place in the afternoon from 4.00pm to 8.00pm, draws inspiration from the now tried and tested “Vogue fashion night” through which the new season’s collections are presented in some cities in a new, spectacular dimension. In addition to the entertainment initiatives promoted directly by traders, the “Giglio Rosso” Photographic Group will also participate in this “fashion” afternoon, which will set up its own set in the small square between Corso Matteotti and via Testaferrata (in front of the former Puccini cinema), as well as immortalising through the streets of the center the most beautiful “poses” and details of this Sunday afternoon dedicated to fashion. Finally, a worthy setting will be ensured by aperitifs and music in the venues.

In addition to this, an ApeRossini at the Petrazzi residence in the name of Garibaldi.

Fucecchio. Cultural event dedicated to artificial intelligence with Libri a Pacchi.

Montespertoli. Musical appointment with Sounds of Spring.

Montopoli. Montopolil in Fiore returns to the historic village.

Pontedera. The Vespa World Days will be held throughout the weekend, here is the entire program.

Peccioli. Exhibition dedicated to the artist Lanciotto Baldanzi.

Florence. On Sunday 21 April the Spring Fair celebrates 21 springs. A special birthday, which the most awaited market of the year, “the one around the Florence stadium”, is preparing to celebrate with a loyal public by brightening up the Campo di Marte neighborhood with its stands. Under the direction of Fiva Confcommercio Firenze-Arezzo, there will be over three hundred stalls that will take place around the ‘Artemio Franchi’ stadium in Florence, along the Manfredo Fanti and Pasquale Paoli avenues, and which from 9 am to 7 pm will entice passers-by by putting displays their varied wares.

To embellish the already rich offer of the market, the free Architecture Workshop for children aged 6 to 12 arrives in the afternoon, from 3.30 pm at the Confcommercio stand in Viale Paoli, near Bar Marisa.

The highlight of the Whiskey Week in Florence will take place on Sunday 21 April. After a week dedicated to events, dinners and tastings dedicated to whisky, the event will culminate at the Hotel Albani, in the heart of Florence, a stone’s throw from Santa Maria Novella. From 12pm to 9pm, the Florentine event will be accompanied by the best whiskey tastings from, among others, Scotland, Ireland, the United States, Japan, France, Australia and obviously Italy: in the rooms of the Hotel Albani there will be around 30 exhibiting companies representing over 150 distilleries.

Livorno. “Yellow pages – literary festival rehearsals”. The exhibition, dedicated to crime literature and organized by the SAP Autonomous Police Union, will take place on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 April at the Bottini dell’Olio library. The festival will start on Saturday 20 April at 4pm, when, to investigate the genre, two great Tuscan writers, authors of best-sellers translated throughout Europe, Leonardo Gori and Marco Vichi, will be with us. Marco De Franchi, also an author of thrillers, who has lived in Livorno for many years, will talk to them and discuss themes and situations that have to do with the relationship between Tuscany and “crime”.

Following, at 5.30 pm, still on the same day on Saturday, there will be the writer Gianni Palagonia, former anti-mafia policeman, known to the general public thanks to his novels-truths, who will talk to us about his profession as a writer after his first life spent working high-risk investigations. “Questioning” him was the magistrate Dr. Massimo Mannucci, deputy prosecutor at the Livorno prosecutor’s office and an excellent crime writer.

Sunday afternoon at 4pm, before the homage at BarLume, we will have a curious conversation between the writer Paola Alberti and the Labronian actor Guglielmo Favilla, on Sherlock Holmes and the culinary tastes of the legendary detective, with the presentation of the book “Breakfast with Sherlock Holmes “, a manual of recipes that Conan Doyle imagined were the favorites of his literary characters.

Who is more suitable for this meeting than Paola Alberti, the best-known queen of crime dinners in clubs across half of Italy with her “Compagnia delitto”, and Guglielmo Favilla who, in addition to being one of the key characters of BarLume, personifies the famous English detective in many advertising sitcoms?

Scarlino. The Maremma village becomes the capital of environmental sustainability for three days with “Salviamo il Pianeta Festival”, an interdisciplinary event which from 19 to 21 April will bring personalities from the fields of culture, economics, journalism and physics to Scarlino to discuss issues of great importance current affairs, which will revolve around the energy transition and environmental protection. The entire municipal area will be at the center of visual arts, theatrical performances, music, book presentations, educational workshops, talk shows, conferences and seminars, to promote ecological awareness and stimulate sustainable lifestyles.
