The fresh air remains in Trentino. This is confirmed by the forecasts of Meteotrentino which in agreement with the Edmund Mach Foundation has issued a new frost warning due to the influx of cold air which has also been affecting Trentino since the beginning of the week.
In fact, on the night of Friday 19th, several locations in flat and poorly ventilated areas of the Val di Non recorded temperatures even below “zero”, forcing farmers to activate interventions to protect their crops.
For the next few days there is a greater risk, especially during the night between Saturday and Sunday, while between Sunday evening and Tuesday evening the risk of frost at low altitudes will decrease but the probability of rain and snow above approximately 1000 – 1300 m will increase.
The evolution in detail.
On the night between Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st April, when the Foehn winds will cease (expected on Saturday), temperatures may drop to values close to or a few degrees below 0°C, especially in the flat and poorly ventilated areas at altitudes above 400 m but locally also below.
From Sunday evening to Tuesday evening, widespread precipitation is probable at times with snow levels above approximately 1000 – 1300 m or locally lower.
Temperatures in the valley bottoms will remain a few degrees above zero, while they may drop to values close to or just below 0 °C between 700 and 1000 m.
From Wednesday to Friday, minimum temperatures are expected to remain lower than average.
