According to the accusatory approach accepted by the investigating judge (without prejudice to the evaluation in the subsequent phases with the contribution of the defense), the investigations, coordinated by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Bari and conducted from November 2020 to April 2021 by the Operational Section of the Altamura Company, through observation, control and shadowing services, searches and seizures, have made it possible to collect serious indications of guilt in this regard to the illicit activities carried out by the association headed by a 51-year-old from Altamura. The investigation originates from two damages to cars and a threatening writing made on the wall of the house (“you have to take the material from us”) of the same 51-year-old.
It is important to underline that the proceeding is in the preliminary investigation phase and that, following the execution of today’s precautionary measures, the guarantee interrogation and the discussion with the defense of the suspects will follow, whose possible guilt, in relation to the crimes contested, must be ascertained during the trial in the cross-examination between the parties.
Today’s operation once again demonstrates the constant attention of the Judicial Authority and the Carabinieri to the delicate phenomenon of drug trafficking, highlighting the role of the institutions as a point of reference for effective action to combat the criminal phenomenon.
