VENICE – They colored the water of the Grand Canal in Venice by throwing a substance from the vaporetto: now the two French tourists, tracked down, have been reported, received a fine and a Daspo.
Artists looking for fame
The authors of the dye spill in the Grand Canal last night were not two young eco-activists at all, but rather a French man and a woman aged 57 and 48 respectively. And we are not even sure that they are environmentalists, but rather artists looking for visibilitygiven the great showcase of these days of Art Biennial. In part they would have admitted it themselves to the Digos agents who took them over from the crew and the enraged passengers of the line 1 vaporetto. On the other hand, even among the most agitated environmental movements, no one knows them.
Daspo from Venice
The fact is that it has already been issued for them the dismissal certificate (Daspo) for one yearon the administrative front the local police are proceeding for an unauthorized spill in the lagoon and on the criminal side the complaints concern caused alarm, interruption of public service and unauthorized demonstration.
Pollution: the analyses
In the meantime, the Arpav is conducting the analyses on the six cans of dye found at the stern of the vaporetto and on a powder bag found at the foot of the Accademia bridge. According to the two Frenchmen they would be all harmless organic and natural substances.
