Friday 19 April was a black day on the streets of Mantua. After the two pensioners who died during the night in a road accident in Pegognaga, a third death occurred in the afternoon, again due to an accident. A 49 year old motorcyclist, Igor Carra, resident in Motteggiana (Mantua) in via Piccagli and employee of Still of Luzzarais dead on the provincial road 50 in Suzzarain that stretch called via Allende, a few hundred meters from the level crossing of the Suzzara-Ferrara railway line.

The motorcyclist was riding a BMW 750 when, for reasons still under investigation, he skidded and ended up against a concrete wall near a ditch. The man was traveling in the direction of Borgoforte. Motorists immediately raised the alarm and within a few minutes the Red Cross ambulance and the Parma air ambulance arrived in Suzzara. The medics started resuscitation procedures, but there was nothing that could be done for the motorcyclist.

To carry out the investigations, carried out by the Ostiglia traffic police officers, it was necessary to stop traffic on the provincial road 50 which leads from Suzzara to the Borgoforte bridge.

Igor Carra, originally from Moglia and father of a 19-year-old boy, a university student, had been working for years at Still in Luzzara, the multinational specialized in the production of forklifts. He was responsible for the painting sector, and in the past he had worked as a worker at Bassoli foundry in Codisotto di Luzzara.

In the afternoon the news of his passing spread quickly among the Still warehouses, arousing deep condolences among the four hundred employees of the Reggio Emilia company.
