Latina, Parrillo: «We want to conquer the Salvation Phase with a victory»
Descriptive text here

The last day of the Clock Phase will be decisive for the future of Benacquista Latina Basket Insurance. The Nerazzurri will face the leaders of the Red Group of the Serie A2 Old Wild West Championship on the parquet of the Palasport in Cisterna di Latina, Unieuro Forlì. Tap-off at 6.00 pm on Sunday 21 April 2024. A heads-and-tails challenge that certainly promises to be difficult for the Pontine team, given the caliber of Forlì, but the stakes are so important that Captain Parrillo and his teammates will play with all the energy possible to achieve fundamental success.

Forlì is a strong, well-structured team that has demonstrated its solidity throughout the season, having conquered and firmly maintained the top of the table, as well as having won the Italian Cup in the category. Latina, fighting to avoid the last position in the standings, and the consequent immediate relegation to Serie B, must aim for victory in order to have the certainty of accessing the Salvation Phase, regardless of the outcome of the other scheduled matches, and hope to save themselves in the next group with 10 games available.

Obviously, the results from the fields of Casale, which will host Chiusi, and Agrigento which will receive Orzinuovi, will also be important for the final ranking, as they are direct clashes for access to the salvation pool.

The words of coach Sacco: «It’s a special Sunday. It is a particular match, because it is the last of this regular season, and at the same time there are also other matches whose result can decide our future. We play against the team that, up to this moment, has proven to be significantly stronger than all the teams in Serie A2, has won the Italian Cup and, honestly, for my character, the determination and the passion that I put into my work, it’s a match that I would prefer to face as a player, rather than experience it as a coach. Being able to play, run, fight, or in any case be involved in a challenge of this value, is something that I would experience better than how I know I will experience it from the bench, watching others play. I hope that my players also experience it with the same intensity.”

The words of Salvatore Parrillo: «We’re here, it’s the last train to reach the Salvation Phase and we want to conquer it with our own strength, without having to hope for the results of others, but with a victory, which would also be important for the future ranking. We will play against one of the strongest teams in the championship, the one that recently won the Italian Cup, which was first in the table in the other group for a long time, and still is. We are aware that to beat a team like that, it will be necessary to play a solid match for 40 minutes, something we were unable to do in Orzinuovi, but now, aware of our mistakes, we must be good at not making any more.”
