First Play Off match for the Azzurri at Palasancarlo today at 3.30pm

Today at the Palasancarlo the first Play Off match will be played which will see Marsala Futsal 2012 challenge Soverato Futsal, a Calabrian team that has the same points in the standings as the Azzurri. The match starts at 3.30pm and is valid for continuation for the purposes of promotion to A2.

Mister Vincenzo Giacalone ranks: Giovanni Paladino and Giovanni Buffa (P), Pietro Bonafede, Matteo De Bartoli, Alessandro Patti, Gabriele Foderà, Gabriele Pellegrino, Christian Pierro, Vito Pizzo, Jorge Tendero, Nicolas Valenti.

Giacalone himself, after the regular season, talks about the new Play Off adventure: “It was much desired and also achieved on the pitch. The club had hoped for this since the beginning of the season and it is no coincidence that we can play in the Play Offs: since the beginning of the year we have all worked together to achieve this objective. Frankly – he continues – I have never worried about safety because I was and am very calm and confident in my group”.

Then a look at the day’s race: “It will be a beautiful match against Soverato, not easy but I think within our reach”. Giacalone also looks at one of the winning cards of this roster, namely the youth sector: “Marsala Futsal has an excellent management structure and consequently a youth sector behind it that is well organized and managed in the best possible way. ways; I have always believed a lot in the youth movement, I believe a lot in hard work and personally I enjoy working with young players because they assimilate easily and are more instinctive. So when there is the possibility of throwing an interesting young player into the mix I don’t think twice. For me, those who deserve play regardless of their age or the category in which they previously played. The Marsala Futsal staff is already very young, just think of Patti and Foderà who are 2002 and 2003, then Villa, Bonafede, Parrinello and I add Valenti too, they are all very interesting guys with uncommon qualities. I’m sure they will be the future of this club in categories even higher than Serie B, because there’s no point in hiding, we want to go to Serie A as soon as possible.”

Finally a look at the opponent: “Soverato is an excellent team, experienced, square and with players who have played in a higher category. In the championship matches they were the only team with whom we didn’t score points but we never failed on the pitch, in fact we put them in difficulty several times. Today we start again from zero to zero, we have to win and we will do everything we can to entertain our wonderful fans.”

Clear words come from Team Manager Francesco Pantaleo: “Today I expect a tough match, we will see a fresh, young and bad Marsala Futsal. I am sure that we will put them in difficulty from a physical point of view, we know very well that they cannot keep up with our pace, like the other contenders for the Play Offs. For us this is an important starting point, it will be the opportunity to demonstrate the our true value against teams that on paper at the beginning of the season had declared they would win everything and instead we know very well that it didn’t go that way. Beating Soverato is our priority and since we haven’t succeeded in past matches, we will do it on Saturday, in front of our fans.”

These are the referees of Marsala Futsal-Soverato: Salvatore Cucuzzella (Ragusa section), Andrea Salanitro (Catania section), Giorgia Mongiovi’ (Palermo section).
