20 years of extracurricular accompaniment

In Merano and Sinigo the “La Strada – Der Weg” Association celebrates an important milestone.

It will be a big party open to all citizens to celebrate an important milestone on April 24th: twenty years ago, in fact, the “La Strada – Der Weg” Association opened in Merano, in Via Vogelweide 13, the afternoon escort service called “ Here for you”, a place where you can receive help in carrying out your schoolwork, but not only… “Exactly like this – says Ilse Dia, coordinator of the service – defining it only as an after-school program is reductive, because for boys and girls, boys and girls, Above all, we offer a relational space, in which to interact with peers but also, on an educational level, with professionally qualified adult staff. Here young people can develop their creativity, in a context where attention to the community and positive lifestyles is promoted”.

Ten years after the opening of “Qui per te” the need arose for a similar service also in the town of Sinigo and so “La Strada-Der Weg” opened the “On Air Rainbow” service in Via Nazionale 58, which became immediately a point of reference for many families residing in the hamlet on the outskirts of Merano.

“Together with “Qui per te” we have a total of 70 members this year – coordinator Tania Della Gala tells us – and the trend is constantly growing. The daily relationship with boys and girls allows us to come into contact with many parents – continues Della Gala – and this gives us the opportunity to monitor the needs of the community in the country. Many parents appreciate that their children spend their free time in a protected context, which in its own small way contributes to preventing youth distress”

The appreciation is also shared by the public body, which supports the service with conviction through the Municipality of Merano and the Family Agency of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano.

“The party we are organizing together with our colleagues from “Qui per te” – concludes Della Gala – also wants to be a moment of thanks to families and schools for the trust shown in us. You are all invited on April 24th at the ” Dopolavoro ” in Sinigo in via Nazionale 58 starting from 3.00 pm. We will welcome you with games, music and a small buffet.”
