The National Aerobatic Team not only represents the excellence and dynamism of the Italian Air Force; it is a wealth of emotions that manages to unite the country in a single embrace. With its evolutions, it embodies team spirit and passion for flying, inspiring national pride. Each performance is an aerial dance that leaves spectators in admiration for the precision and harmony of the flight.

The roar of the Aermacchi MB-339A PAN engines will announce the arrival of an unparalleled show in Trani – the only 2024 Air show in Southern Italy – where the sky becomes a canvas on which to paint breathtaking swirls, transforming the performances into true works of art art, masterfully brushstrokes of green, white and red.

The city of Trani is preparing to welcome one of the most loved and recognized symbols of Italy in the world. The event, organized by the Air Force, the Aero Club of Italy and the City of Trani, falls on the day after the centenary of the Air Force, since it became an autonomous armed force in 1923. The Air Force has marked the epic of flight in Italy and around the world and is inextricably linked to the City of Trani through the exploits of its illustrious aviators. We remember Lieutenant Giuseppe de Robertis, military pilot in the war period, silver medal for military valor, and the Atlantic flyer Pietro Lettini, silver medal for aeronautical valor.

The National Aerobatic Team (PAN) is the flagship of the Air Force, it has the honor of representing, with spectacular aerial acrobatics, over 40,000 men and women and values ​​such as cohesion, team spirit, professionalism, dedication and sacrifice.
In the global aeronautical panorama there are many prestigious aerobatics teams, but the 313th Aerobatic Training Group – this is the official name of the Frecce Tricolori – is undoubtedly the most famous.

Much awaited is the show which will see the PAN, led by the new commander Massimiliano Salvatore, with 9 vehicles in formation plus a soloist, draw in the sky on the Lungomare Cristoforo Colombo in Trani (starting from 3.30 pm on Sunday 12 May) the acrobatics that they made it great.

The Frecce performance will be preceded by the SAR demo of the 36th wing of Gioia del Colle which will simulate a rescue action at sea with the HH139 helicopter. Also planned is the simulation of an operation to combat illicit trafficking, carried out by the Aeronaval Operations Department of the Guardia di Finanza of Bari, the overflight of two Eurofighter Typhoons of the 36th fighter wing of Gioia del Colle.
At 3.30pm there will be an acrobatic air show.
In the evening, starting from 7.30 pm, a concert will be held in Piazza Quercia with performances by musical groups to greet the Frecce tricolori.

A full program will enliven the city starting from Friday 10 May with an evening in Piazza Quercia organized by the main sponsor of the three days Maldarizzi Automotive. The dealer from Southern Italy represents another excellence in the sector, recently awarded as Italy’s Best Employers 2024.

On the afternoon of Saturday 11 May, the aircraft of the aerobatic team will be heard whizzing along the Lungomare Cristoforo Colombo for the dress rehearsal (3.30 pm).

The notes of the concert of the Fanfare of the Air Force School Command of the III Air Region will resonate in Piazza Quercia from 7.00 pm (free entry) with the participation of the Asd Para Dos Tango Tango Academy and the South Dance Center dance studio of Trani. At the opening of the concert, the conferment of honorary citizenship to the Air Force is planned, as decided by the City Council on 8 April.

On Saturday and Sunday in Piazza Plebiscito, starting from 10:00, the Air Force village will be set up.

The Trani event will also be characterized by some themed initiatives organized by the DUC – Urban Commerce District – Trani, which will be announced in the next few days. In particular, some photographic contests designed for the city’s activities and public establishments and initiatives that will involve the city’s schools are planned.
