Lex Start stops at the University of Salerno: on Monday 22 April the proposals of 70 students

The race doesn’t stop Lex Startthe initiative promoted by Andrea Volpecouncilor of the Campania Region of the Italian Socialist Party – Free Campania – Noi di Centro – Noi Campani council group, which invites young people to
write a regional law in your own hand.

So that they can have their say, so that they actively participate in the process legis, so that tomorrow is not too late but the future is designed with their own hands and their own ideas. In the middle of a tour among the high schools of Campania Lex Start meets UNISA.

Monday 22 April at 2.30 pm the project arrives at Department of Political Sciences and Communication of the University of Salerno to listen to the proposals of over 70 students of the General Sociology Course.

This meeting, like all others, is merely a plenary session, a way to understand what the needs of a generation are
in turmoil but sometimes also without fixed points and certain directions. Lex’s arena thus becomes the place where the kids understand or more simply discover in which area they feel the need to intervene to change or improve things.

In the second phase, interested parties will be actively involved, they will simulate the legislative procedure in the Chamber of the Campania Legislative Assembly and then arrive, as already happened last January, at the drafting of a real regulatory proposal, which will have its process in the Commissions competent and in the Council.

«Lex Start’s aim is to demonstrate the closeness of politics to the sensitivity and problems of young people
so that concrete opportunities for institutional participation are activated. This stage is already part of the second group of young legislators that we recruit from among students in our area with the aim of bringing them concretely closer to the regional institution.

Every time the sense of interest and participation is strong, a symptom that this generation wants to have a voice
in chapter. By comparing the opportunities, critical issues and potential of their land, young people will be able to build their tomorrow, I hope without choosing to leave the place where they were born and raised» says councilor Volpe.

New stages on the horizon: although there are only a few months left until the end of school, Lex Start continues its journey among students and will soon also be in Battipaglia and Montecorvino Rovella.
