Parma, the ironic report cards of Amenta and Ferrara

We must confess: when at the beginning of the year we read the calendar we expected that this evening against Parma would be one of those watershed matches in which our championship could be decided. Then, during the season, we woke up and realized it was all a dream! We don’t play much, instead, maybe just dignity and a little enthusiasm. It’s a lot? Is it little? You decide.

We like to win, in any way, even by parking the bus in front of the door and arriving half a time in the opponent’s area. The bad weather and the situation brought only the aunt’s relatives back to the stadium who finally enjoyed the beautiful space in the stands and could lie down, disturbed only by the excesses of the Parma fans! As always, in the worst moments, the Palermo fan prefers to stay at home and our applause goes to the great little Ruggero, present in a wheelchair despite a mile-long cast blocking his leg. True fan!

Mignani recovers Lucioni and Di Mariano and deploys them immediately. Ceccaroni rests after yet another bullshit and plays Nedelcearu. Segre is still on the bench for the benefit of the Henderson and Gomes duo. For the rest, nothing new going forward. Parma immediately pressed hard, almost ferociously. Palermo don’t get too upset and hold the field well. The match is almost as uncertain as the Mef’s estimate for the superbonus but let’s hope it ends better.

The only real shock of the match was the injury to Di Mariano after a terrible clash. The Rosanero striker remains on the ground and then leaves on a stretcher due to an injury whose severity will need to be assessed. Enter Buttaro. Immediately afterwards comes the first real opportunity with Mancuso who splits it where Pigliacelli always scores, but where instead the Parma goalkeeper arrives and deflects.

Immediately afterwards, Pigliacelli emulates him and flies to the same corner fumbling in the corner after a mocking deflection, repeating himself with his whole body a second later! Before the first half whistle, only a high crossbar arrived for Parma, on a defensive header that was causing the most classic of own goals.

In the interval we would like a grappa for the almost winter climate but we are already sleepy and we avoid it because of the bait. The second half starts even slower than the first. However, the pinks can take the lead but Brunori acrobatically clears a ball that he should have put into the net just a stone’s throw from the goalkeeper! Henderson and Mancuso leave for Segre and Traoré who are still waiting at the Barbera like the Messiah.

The pace slows to the point that we have plenty of time to read the scrolls unrolled on the bend to write a story against Catania. Just before the end Mignani replaces Brunori for Koulibaly to maintain the result which evidently satisfies him. And in fact, at the final whistle, yet another equalizer arrived from the brief, but already disappointing, Mignani management. Let’s just hope they’re saving all the wins for the playoffs. Go Palermo!

Pigliacelli 7 – At least two great saves and other noteworthy interventions but above all, after time immemorial, his goal remains untouched. Clean sheets.

Diakité 6 – He receives a precise instruction: “stay behind and don’t go beyond the middle of the field”. And he, despite himself, adapts. Curbed.

Lucioni 6 – As expected, his contribution in terms of personality and authority is notable and regrets for his long absence are inevitably growing. Commander.

Nedelcearu 5.5 – Lucioni’s presence reassures him, but when the old ghosts attack him, the old ghosts return and he goes into trouble. Bad memories.

Di Mariano 8 – After an excellent half hour he comes out in tears and with his hands in his face among the faces of his teammates who say everything and our vote is one of encouragement: that he can recover as soon as possible. Good luck.

(from 33′ pt Buttaro) 5.5 – A couple of dangerous shots, a good opportunity from close range slipped badly on the bottom, but also a lot of resourcefulness. Chiaroscuro.

Henderson 5 – A lot of running and little substance, so much so that we don’t remember a noteworthy passage. Vacuous.

(from 18′ st Segre) 6 – It remains a mystery to us why he doesn’t start after having always been among the best for a long time. Unfortunately, every time he comes on, in the final half hour, the match already seems to be channeled towards the new coach’s preferred result. Penalized.

Gomes 5 – The player of the many useless passes to his closest teammate seems to be back with some good recoveries in coverage. Slow.

By Francesco 7 – He is one of the few positive notes of the new management, appearing much more enterprising and lively in this role in which he can roam behind the strikers. Freedom.

Monday 6 – With the more covered lineup, he is asked less to defend, which as we know he is unable to do: he takes advantage of this to launch forward with greater incisiveness also thanks to a clearly improving physical condition. Midshipman.

Mancuso 5.5 – He ranges across the entire offensive front, seeking dialogue with his teammates but when good balls come to him to kick into the net, unfortunately, he wastes them in a gross manner. Inaccurate.

(from 18′ st Traoré) 5 – Every time he is called to enter the pitch the pink and black crowd mysteriously cheers him on with the belief that he can rock the match. He regularly disappoints with improbable dribbling and turnovers. Ammuina.

Brunori 5 – The two-pronged formation makes him more effective in terms of the balls he passes to his teammates, but he has completely lost track of kicking goals in a dangerous way and, on some occasions, he seems almost detached from the game. Nervous.

(from 44′ st Coulibaly) sv

Mignani 5 – The graph of the balance sheet of his, albeit brief, experience on the Rosanero bench begins to veer dramatically downwards with a paltry haul of three points in three games, two of which at home, all of which were also quite boring and devoid of emotion. Waiting for Godot.
