Serie B. Ferrara Basketball, no jokes in Oderzo

Winning in Oderzo so as not to lose the good things done in the last month, and above all securing a third place which would be fundamental from a playoff perspective. Ferrara Basket cannot sit on its laurels even on the last day of the Play-In, and to follow up on the four consecutive successes it needs to get a pink slip in Oderzo too, against a team decimated by injuries and still without victories in this second phase. Everything suggests an easy away match for the biancazzurri, who however must be good at not underestimating the commitment, because a wrong approach could prove fatal in the remainder of the forty minutes: Ferrara has everything to lose and little to gain, although a victory would certify a third place that would have been sensational given the tortuous path of Drigo and his teammates throughout the season.

Be careful, we were saying, because Oderzo in the midweek recovery in Fidenza proved to be a team that was not at all on holiday: we were talking about the approach to the match, and Benedetto will have to push a lot on this aspect, considering the 0-13 with which the Treviso team opened the match on Wednesday evening in Fidenza. Then the values of the two teams came out at a distance, but those who thought of an easy victory for Bizzozi’s team, sure of second place, had to think again: Fidenza was ultimately ahead 81-72, sweating more than expected and sending a clear signal to Ferrara.

If you don’t play at your best you risk making a fool of yourself, and that’s what the Este fans don’t hope for given the continuous progress of the blue and whites in the last period, both on a tactical and mental level. Having reiterated Oderzo’s injuries, Ferrara has also been forced to deal with the ailments of some of its protagonists for some time: Cecchetti will not be there tomorrow, who has been rested all week and will stay in the pits with the aim of recovering in view of the playoffs, while the other injured players (Guerra and Porfilio above all) are better and will be on the pitch regularly.

Benedetto’s men have to put an end to the Oderzo matter and then they will be able to concentrate on the post season, which to tell the truth still seems quite far away: the playoffs will in fact begin on May 8th, in about twenty days, and in this period of time Ferrara he will have to be able to maintain his physical condition without running into injuries that would complicate the approach to the key phase of the season.
