Caltanissetta. Waiting for Orthodox Easter at the Orthodox parish of Saints Calogero and Elia il Nuovo – il Fatto Nisseno

CALTANISSETTA. Orthodox Easter will also be celebrated in Caltanissetta on May 5th. This religious event will be celebrated at the Orthodox Parish of Saints Calogero and Elia il Nuovo in Via Re d’Italia 70 in Caltanissetta (in the photo). The program includes Great Wednesday with the Office of the Holy Oil on May 1st at 6pm. On May 2nd, however, there is Great Thursday which at 9am offers Vespers and the Divine Liturgy of Saint Basil, while at 6pm the Matins of the Passion of the Lord (12 Gospels) will take place.

May 3rd is Big Friday. At 9.30 Royal Hours, at 3 pm there is the Vespers of the Crucifixion and Death of Our Lady Jesus Christ, at 5.30 pm the Matins of the Deposition, at 7.45 pm the Procession. On May 4th Great Saturday with Vespers and the Divine Liturgy of Saint Basil at 9.30 am, the Holy, Great and Bright Easter of Christ. Finally, on May 5th, at 11.30 Easter Vespers for an Orthodox Easter which in Caltanissetta will once again be experienced with great participation and heartfelt devotion.
