An elderly man was hit by a car in via Ravegnana. The accident occurred near Via Borgo San Rocco. The man, on a bicycle, was heading towards the railway overpass when he was hit by a Fiat Punto, driven by a boy, who was traveling in the same direction. The cyclist was thrown from the saddle, broke the windshield of the car and then landed heavily on the asphalt. When the 118 operators arrived at the scene of the accident, with an ambulance and a medical vehicle, the 82-year-old’s condition was desperate. The medical staff worked around the injured man for a long time. In the meantime, the helicopter medical from Bologna landed in the San Rocco sports field. The RomagnaSoccorso helicopter, in fact, was unable to intervene, after having transported the 10-year-old boy who was hit in Piazza Bologna to the Bufalini in Cesena.
However, given the desperate condition of the elderly man, the doctors opted to transport the injured man to the nearest hospital and the ambulance then left in the direction of the Faenza hospital, but all attempts to save the man’s life were in vain.

The dynamics of the accident will now have to be reconstructed by the State Police agents, also based on the testimonies of the people present. The stretch of Via Ravegnana where the accident occurred was therefore closed to traffic, thanks to the collaboration of some citizens and the Carabinieri.
